Dusk Below
Dusk Below is a passion project built as a refined, minimalist take on the roguelite genre. The goal was to strip away the "bloat" often found in modern mobile RPGs and focus on the core loop: high-stakes combat, meaningful character choices, and the pressure of knowing that death is permanent.
The Experience: Each run starts in the city, where you prepare your character, before descending into the dungeon. The combat relies on a spec-based system. Whether you’re an Arms Warrior or a Subtlety Rogue, your choices in the talent tree fundamentally change how you approach encounters.
Why play it?
- The "Heirloom" Mechanic: Your items don't just disappear. The choice of what to extract from a dungeon and stash for your next character adds a layer of strategy that keeps the meta-progression feeling personal.
- Respects Your Time: The game is designed to be played in "bites." Whether you have three minutes on a commute or twenty minutes to sit down, the pacing is tuned to provide a complete "adventure" in a single session.
- Tactical Depth: It looks simple, but the difficulty curve is designed to force you to adapt. You can’t brute-force your way through the deeper floors; you have to balance your gear, your talent paths, and your health management.
What to expect: This is a work-in-progress, browser-based roguelite. If you enjoy games that focus on tight mechanical loops and strategic RPG depth rather than flashy, distracting animations, this is for you.
